Oil Fluorescence
Fluorescence that derives largely from the aromatic hydrocarbon fraction of oil. The emission is strongly influenced by the chemical composition (e.g., fluorophore and quencher concentrations) and physical characteristics (e.g., viscosity and optical density) of the oil.
