IHRDC’s Emerging Leaders Program provides those individuals, who are targeted for or who aspire to become leaders, with an integrated and practical understanding of key leadership skills, with an oil and gas industry perspective. A competency based approach is used to structure the program components, which includes weekly mentor presentations, e-Learning assignments, discussion of case studies, guidance and interaction with the Mentor as well as fellow participants. There will be a pre and post assessment exercise that will produce a graphic result for measuring the learning achieved from the program.

Introduction: What is Leadership
This session steps beyond the traditional leadership styles and techniques and challenges the participants to identify their individual talents and the leader within. It steps into the psychology of what it takes to be a successful leader in today’s business world and discusses how each person can evaluate their own individual skills and traits to determine their personal leadership stiles and paths on your way to a successful career. We use real life scenarios and examples of today’s leaders to evaluate how those successes/failures impacted their individual careers and futures.
Communication for Leaders
This session is designed to help leaders improve their impact, performance and effectiveness as communicators. It equips you with the tools, techniques and skills to build your communication capacity at all levels – whether it be interpersonal, organizational or external, and enable you to become a leader communicator who connects and resonates with any stakeholders.
Emotional Intelligence for Project Managers

Leaders learn how to introduce a change initiative and lead discussions with employees to explore how best to implement the changes.
