Learning Pathways
IHRDC’s Pathways enable learners to progress in their training from foundational industry knowledge, to generalized functional training, and finally to industry segment-specific learning. By following these plans, learners can achieve the required level of competency to better perform their jobs.
IHRDC’s O&M Pathways are specifically designed to build competencies among technicians and operators who work in a variety of petroleum sectors: Refining, Petrochemicals and Field Operations. Focus areas include the four traditional O&M specialties: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Operations.
Stage 1: Foundation Training provides the background learning required for all new O&M personnel.
Stage 2: Functional Training Pathways are divided into four paths, one for each functional area.
Stage 3: Industry Sector Training Pathways provide the specific training in each industry sector.
IHRDC’s Upstream Technical Pathways are specifically designed to build competencies among Upstream Petrotechnical specialists who work in a variety of Upstream sectors: geology, geophysics, petrophysics, drilling and production engineering, reservoir engineering and upstream management.
