Joshua Hartung leads operations at Process & Safety Solutions LLC, based in Pearland, Texas. He oversees more than 60 facilities and manages staff to ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements. With over 20 years of industry experience, he specializes in Process Design, Safety Instrumented Systems, and Safety Program Development, including deep expertise in EPA Risk Management and Mitigation programs.
Prior to his consulting career, Joshua served in Senior Executive Leadership with the U.S. Navy, where he directed the inspection, certification, and operational readiness of nuclear submarines within Squadron Seventeen. In this role, he was responsible for the deployment, maintenance, scheduling, and inspection of the Submarine Force, ensuring the highest standards of nuclear controls and operations.
While assigned at the Command Submarine Force, Pacific Fleet, Joshua developed and implemented nuclear emergency response and radiological decontamination policies in close coordination with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and the Test Site in Hanford, Washington. He led emergency response and containment training for personnel across naval nuclear platforms, land-based reactor sites, local and federal fire departments, and senior policy staff. As an OSHA and EPA consultant, Joshua has completed more than 100 inspections & audits and has delivered process safety training programs to clients nationwide.
