Mr. Tom Hathaway is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply with more than 35 years of Oil Industry Experience across Asia, Middle East and Africa in senior management positions for Shell in Joint Ventures and setting up new projects. He left Shell in 2017 and has since worked delivering independent Procurement and Finance Consulting services to State Companies and IOCs.
Tom’s experience includes 15 years as a Finance Manager and Director for Shell Upstream operations in China, Shell Iran and at Olokola LNG FZE in Nigeria. In these roles he established finance and procurement systems for complex sets of companies, establishing Joint Operating procedures and controls and was involved in various commercial discussions, including finalizing the Changbei Gas development PSA in China, resource sharing and throughput agreements. He then moved into project delivery as a Senior Procurement Manager supporting Shell/KMGs start-up exploration in the North Caspian, Kazakhstan and as Senior Procurement Manager for Drilling and Production Operations at Shell Majnoon, Iraq during a strategic refresh. His consultancy work has included projects for the Government Regulator and Operators in Kazakhstan delivering Procurement Health Checks, Benchmarking studies, Inventory Optimization reviews and detailed analytical studies. Most recently he has been working for North Caspian Operating Company leading a business improvement program for Supply Chain at the Kashagan field.
